ok so now things have changed a bit, now he said he may take it to the track once in a while as well as drive/cruise around town, not every weekend but on occasion and apparently someone has talked him into installing a nitrous kit as well

I did one several years ago for a mud bog truck. If you have a old core get a needle bearing kit
as the later needle bearings have more bearings (needles) in them. I recommend a transgo stage
2 reprograming kit. I am also attaching a page with several parts and info sources for you as well.
